The monitoring agents will contact you in person – and/or your designated keyholders, and the emergency services/Gardaí if necessary. They always ask you and the keyholders for a verification word, a password which you have chosen which means no one else can pretend to be you. If a verification word is not given, or a wrong one is given, the Gardaí/emergency services will be called immediately.
