PhoneWatch welcome the launch of the new Budget 2018 Telephone Support Allowance this week to support those living alone.
PhoneWatch welcome the launch of the new Budget 2018 Telephone Support Allowance, introduced by the Department of Social Protection to support those living alone.
A new payment, the Telephone Support Allowance (TSA), was announced during Budget 2018 and comes into effect the week commencing 4 June 2018. TSA is a payment for people who live alone and are already in receipt of the fuel allowance and living alone allowance from the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection.
Under the allowance, those eligible will automatically receive an additional €2.50 a week (€130 annually) which can be put toward the cost of monitored home security or cost of communications. The additional payment is automatically added to the weekly payments of those who are eligible.
How do I find out more information about the TSA?
More information on the TSA is available from the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection.
An added extra from PhoneWatch:
