You're 4 times less likely to be burgled with a PhoneWatch alarm
You're 4 times less likely to be burgled with a PhoneWatch alarm compared to the average national burglary rate. This is measured by taking the total PhoneWatch customer base divided by total PhoneWatch customers who have experienced a burglary (data from our Alarm Receiving Centre Q1 - Q4 2023). This data is then compared to the national Irish burglary rate i.e. total Irish households (Census 2022) divided by total recorded burglaries. This information is taken from the CSO recorded crime data released in March 2024 reviewing the 12 month figures from Q1 2023 to Q4 2023. This data is updated quarterly.
Substantiation of the claim
National Homes 1,957,838
National Break-ins 9,545
PhoneWatch Homes 120,074
PhoneWatch Break-ins 116
National Burglary Rate 0.49%
PhoneWatch Burglary Rate 0.10%
Number of times safer with PhoneWatch 5.05
The total PhoneWatch customer base (120,074) divided by total number of PhoneWatch customers who have experienced a burglary in Q1 to Q4 2023 (116). This gives a figure of 0.10%. This data is then compared to the national Irish burglary rate 0.49% i.e., total Irish households (taken from the 2022 census minus vacant dwellings) divided by total recorded burglaries of 9,545 at that time (12 months relating to Q1 2023 to Q4 2023). This information is taken from the CSO recorded crime data March 2024. So, 0.49% divided by 0.10% brings us to 5.05 times less likely to be burgled with a PhoneWatch alarm compared to the national burglary rate, but in our advertising we use 4 times.
